Growing Entrepreneurs Marion (GEM) Program
Get Ready for Success!
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This eight program class introduces entrepreneurs to the concepts and practices that will provide interested students with the tools necessary for business success. The evening classes will be held at the Historic Marion Depot, 58 Depot Street, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. By the end of the program, each student will have produced a basic small business plan, and will have the opportunity to present their plan and business concept to the review team for consideration for a $5,000 small business grant assistance package. The winning business package(s) will receive up to $5,000 reimbursable grant(s) to provide for rent and power, free memberships to the McDowell Chamber of Commerce and Marion Business Association, and extensive marketing, accounting, and business support. Additional details will be provided at the class. In order to qualify for grant funds, the selected business MUST locate in the City of Marion.
100% Attendance is mandatory for those interested in being eligible for the grant. Other business owners and entrepreneurs may sign up for individual classes as space permits.
Growing Entrepreneurs is an entrepreneur development program presented by the City of Marion, Marion Business Association, McDowell Chamber of Commerce and the Small Business Center at MTCC.
